Information on check-In and boarding procedure

STEP 01

Arrival at the airport
  • Please check the Counter Open of the check-in counter before leaving for the airport.
  • Counter Open : 3 hours prior to flight departure
  • Closing time : 1 hour prior to flight departure​​

STEP 03

Check-in of baggage
  • Please check in your baggage at the Air Premia counter.

STEP 04

Enter departure hall
  • Security: Security search is conducted on the passenger and his/her belongings.
  • Departure screening: You will be checked for whether you have a valid passport.

STEP 05

Boarding
  • For smooth boarding, please have your passport and boarding pass ready.
  • Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure (or 40 minutes before departure in the case of flights for the Americas) and will close 10 minutes before the scheduled departure.
  • Passengers who need to make a customs declaration, report to military service authorities or quarantine authorities before leaving the country should report to the relevant authorities in advance.

※ Those over the age of 7 and under 14 are required to be accompanied by their parents and submit documents proving family relations
Foreign nationals
Foreign nationals registered in Korea and age 17 or older Foreign nationals over the age of 17 staying in Korea for a short term
Use of services does not require registration in advance The services can be used at departure screening: for departure without the need for advance registration
※ The services are not available to those who did not provide their biological data upon entry to Korea

Customs declaration, or reporting to military service authorities or quarantine authorities

Export of foreign currency

  • International travelers who are taking with them international travel expenses in excess of 10,000 US dollars are required to declare to the head of customs.

Export of valuables or high-priced items

  • International travelers who take valuables or high-priced items out of the country and bring them back upon return must declare the export of such belongings to customs.

  • International travelers who take belongings out of the country as above must declare in advance through the website of Korea Customs Service or declare at the time of departure and be issued a confirmation certificate on having declared the export of such belongings in order to be exempt from paying duties on the items when returning to the country.

  • If an individual with an obligation to military service wishes to take an international trip, an approval for international travel must be acquired from the regional military administrative office and approval letter must be submitted (including the application form in electronic document format) at the time of immigration and departure screening.

    • Individuals aged 25 or older and in reserve
    • Individuals aged 25 or older, in reserve and who have not been summoned
    • Individuals serving as a preliminary serviceman to prepare for service on a ship
    • Individuals fulfilling their military service through social welfare work, arts and sports, specialized research, industrial functions, public health center doctors, dedicated doctors for ruling on military fitness, public legal officers or public quarantine veterinary doctors

  • International travelers can receive an internationally recognized vaccination certificate for infectious diseases such as yellow fever and cholera from the quarantine center.

    ※ Check in advance the certificates related to quarantine required by the countries you are traveling to.
  • Bring your passport (or a copy of your passport) when being vaccinated. You will have to pay for the vaccination as well as the fees for the issuance of a certificate.
    ※ As the vaccine for yellow fever is offered by the government (the Center for Disease Control), the payment will be made not to the hospital but by purchasing a government revenue stamp. For details, please visit the website of the National Quarantine Centerof the Center for Disease Control.
